Iain Johnston
In the more than 25 years Iain has spent in sales and marketing, he has developed a passion and enthusiasm for the coaching and training of sales effectiveness, key account management, relationship management and strategic planning.
In order to maintain his knowledge, Iain actively drives select projects. Iain was responsible for the successful launch of the Iams and Eukanuba pet food products into South Africa, which today is the leading premium brand in the R1,0 billion pet food industry in South Africa. He also pioneered the development of retail selling into the Veterinary hospitals in South and southern Africa, which currently provide the Veterinary profession with revenues in excess of R400 million per annum.
Through his strong interpersonal skills and extensive entrepreneurial experience, Iain has developed excellent presentation and training abilities. Iain uses a structured and people orientated process to deliver presentations that ensure financially effective and measurable results.
Iain launched his consulting business in 2001 to spearhead the "Searching FOR Customers" model - a proprietary process he developed. This model provides a structured and strategic approach to embrace the three key areas that radiate from the function and goal of a business today - that of Finding, Obtaining and Retaining customers.
Centred around the Baobab tree, the "upside down" business approach that Iain uses focuses on the "exposed roots" which, in the context of business, is people. This brings to the fore the simple and basic principles that have evolved from eminent teachers and scholars over the last 2,500 years. In particular, the approach used in Iain's strategic planning methodology are borne from the words of Socrates who said "I cannot teach people anything, I can only make them think".
