Leigh Harrison MA (Linguistics)
Leigh's sound academic background includes completing her undergraduate degree at Rhodes University and her Masters degree (cum laude) in Linguistics at Stellenbosch. Her studies have equipped her for an extensive career focused on communications. As a specialist facilitating effective communication, Leigh enables people to achieve personal and business goals more readily, allowing them to get what they want and need.
Leigh's career began in leadership development for community organisations. In this position she negotiated with overseas donors to ensure the viability of local projects. One of Leigh's strengths is her ability to relate to different people in all their diversity.
For many years Leigh has focused not only on developing interpersonal communication but also on intrapersonal communication. This has involved using various media to enable people to understand how their thought processes affect their behaviour and therefore the successful outcome of their goals.
Leigh is currently MD of her own company, Belvue Consulting, which has been running for several years. Under the auspices of this business Leigh has facilitated the formation of new Boards, created network opportunities for business owners to develop and grow their companies as well as engaged with a range of clients that have included organisations such as Sappi, Barloworld, SMEs and Public Benefit Organizations.
Coaching is an essential aspect of Leigh's business. Through her coaching, individuals have been better able to achieve their desired outcomes and that of their organizations. Using feedback to improve individual performance is key to Leigh's coaching approach.
Leigh co-authored a book which has been launched in South Africa and is due to be published in the United States shortly. It is a further expression of Leigh's ability and desire to communicate and create opportunities for others to do the same.
