Profile - Jo Stewart
With a BCom Honours degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Cape Town, Jo is a global specialist in implementing IT applications for large international companies. Over the past 25 years, Jo has planned, consulted, managed and directed over 85 SAP software implementations, with accountability for project budgets exceeding R250 million.
In her last corporate role in 2009, Jo was Business Systems Executive (Finance, HR and Business Intelligence) for SAB Ltd, where she controlled a team of over 50 IT professionals on global and local projects. Key to Jo achieving her objectives was the negotiation and commercial management of project budgets.
Jo was recruited by SAB following her role as the SABMiller Global Services Director for SAP, where she had been responsible for supporting the global SABMiller CIO with programme strategy, planning and project design negotiations in Europe, South Africa and Latin America.
From 1997 to 2008, Jo worked for SAP Africa where, from 1998 to 2001 in her capacity as Head of Projects and Customer Services, Jo was accountable for the negotiation of all SAP Africa Consulting projects, as well as the co-ordination of project alliance contracts. During this time, Jo was responsible for SAP Africa's most strategic client projects including SABMiller and SAB Ltd, Standard Bank, MassMart, Iscor, Cadbury's, Sasol, Afrox, Eskom and Transnet.
In 2002/3 Jo took a position with SAP Australia as Consulting Engagement Manager where she managed the financial services and government clients based in Sydney and Brisbane, after which she returned to South Africa and successfully set up the Strategy and Business Consulting division for SAP Africa.
Jo is currently working with The Dealmaker Programmes Company as a Coach specialising in The Dealdiva™ programme, at the same time as honing her negotiating skills with her two young children.
